Upper Front Teeth Protrusion

Upper front teeth protrusions are a type of misaligned bite that’s characterized by the upper row of teeth extending out over the bottom row of teeth. This can also occur when the lower teeth don’t extend far enough out.

Overbite

When the upper front teeth extend beyond the lower front teeth, there’s an overbite. Having an overbite can cause premature wear of the teeth and also cause a person to bite the roof of his or her mouth with the lower teeth.

Crossbite

A crossbite is when the upper teeth sit inside the lower teeth. If untreated, time of the problems that may occur with this type of bite are tooth stratification and misaligned teeth.

Openbite

An openbite occurs when the upperand lower teeth don’t fit together properly, causing a space between the two rows of teeth. This bite can impact talking and chewing in addition to starting unwanted habits like thumb sucking or tongue thrusting.

Crowding

As the opposite of crowding, spacing is when there’s too much room in the mouth for the teeth. An example of this would include missing teeth. When there are spacing problems, teeth can shift out of their proper positions and cause weak gums.

Spacing

Opposite of crowding, spacing occurs when there is too much room between teeth. This problem can cause weak gums and cause teeth to slip out of their proper place.

Unmatched Dental Mindlines

When the back bite between the upper and lower teeth don’t match properly, this is what is known as unmatched dental midlines. This problem can impact proper dental function and also cause severe jaw pain.
