How do they feel once they’re put on?

Mini-Twin™ Brackets are designed with a low profile and smoothly finished surface to provide a more comfortable fit for you.

Why is the back of each bracket etched in a grid design?

The etched pattern helps your orthodontist secure the bracket (the piece that is attached onto each tooth) so that it is less likely to be knocked off or pulled by sticky foods.

Will I have fewer appointments with my orthodontist if I choose this type of system?

The Mini-Twin Bracket design allows the use of full size finishing archwires earlier in treatment and that may reduce overall treatment time. Your orthodontist will recommend the appropriate treatment plan for you.

Clarity Clear Braces

Clarity™ Clear braces offer a comfortable design with a clear appearance. Many patients enjoy the combination of ceramic and metal because not only is it attractive it is also sturdy.

Also, because of the material that is used, Clarity Clear Braces will not stain and patients can proceed with necessary orthodontic treatment without having to feel self-conscious. In addition, Clarity braces’ smooth, rounded shape allows for greater patient comfort.

Are my Clarity ™ Ceramic Braces transparent?

Every individual has different colored teeth. Clarity braces “blend” with these color differences and do not draw attention to your braces.

Will I get to choose Clarity Clear braces?

As long as the treatment plan outlined by your Orthodontist is not affected by the choice of braces, Clarity braces are a logical choice.

Will my treatment take longer with Clarity Clear braces?

Clarity braces perform like metal braces and will not result in longer treatment time.

Are Clarity Clear braces for people of all ages?

Yes. Clarity braces are for everyone.

Can I wear colored elastic bands?

Yes, you can individualize your Clarity braces with colored bands just as you can metal braces.

Do Clarity braces stain?

Clarity braces are made from a very hard ceramic material that does not stain.

SmartClip Self-Ligating Braces

We utilize the SmartClip™ appliance by 3M Unitek, the self ligating bracket, in our office. The simple bracket system uses technology that allows the wire to slide back and forth within the bracket. This unique technology creates less friction and results in greater comfort, and may result in faster treatment times due to its slide mechanism, strong, mechanical base bonding and solid walls structured to control tooth movement with speed and efficiency. In addition to greater comfort, self-ligating braces make it easier to maintain good hygiene because they are much easier to keep clean.

What does “self ligating” mean?

Self ligating means that the brackets on your teeth do not require special ties or elastic bands to hold your archwire in contact with your brackets.

Are Self-Ligating braces right for me?

Self-ligating brackets are able to be used in most cases, but this will need to be discussed with your orthodontist.

How do they feel once they’re put on?

3M Unitek works hard to find ways to continually reduce patient discomfort. SmartClip™ Self-ligating Braces use lighter forces and cause less friction than conventional braces with can result in a more comfortable fit for you.

Invisalign®

Invisalign is the clear way to straighten teeth without braces, using aligners. Aligners are removable and virtually invisible, which means you can straighten your teeth without anyone knowing; and you can still eat and drink what you want. Also, you can brush and floss normally to maintain healthy gums and teeth; and there are no wires, metal or brackets to cause mouth abrasions.

Many of our patients had never considered traditional braces but are now happily and comfortably improving their smiles with Invisalign.

What Is Invisalign?

• Series of clear, removable, custom-made Aligners.

How Does Invisalign Work?

• Wear each set of Aligners for about 2 - 4 weeks.
• Visit us every 6 – 10 weeks.
• Total treatment time and number of Aligners depends on the complexity of the case.
